Potawatomi speaking elder Cecelia Miksekwe Jackson of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, Kansas, passed away today at 88. She was a bit of a polyglot who could understand a great deal of Odawa, Ojibwe and English. Get Your Immersion by Attending Pow-Wows

Pow-wows (dances) give the general public a fun way of getting immersed in Native cultures and languages. The University of Iowa (.4% Native enrollment) helped fund a $35,000 inter-tribal pow-wow.
